Ingredients
For 6 people:
- 6 beautiful apples (Golden or Granny Smith)
- 150g of sugar
- 100g of butter
- 1 puff pastry
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
- 1 packet of vanilla powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (thermostat 6).
- Peel the apples, remove the seeds, and cut them into quarters.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and let it caramelize gently, stirring regularly until it turns golden brown.
- Add the apple quarters to the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes, until they are slightly golden. Add the cinnamon and vanilla if desired.
- Arrange the caramelized apples in a tart pan, packing them tightly.
- Cover with the puff pastry, tucking the edges inside the pan.
- Pierce the pastry with a fork to prevent it from puffing up too much.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the pastry is nicely golden.
- Once out of the oven, let it rest for 5 minutes before flipping the tart onto a serving plate.
- Serve warm, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of fresh cream.
Chef's Tips
For an even richer caramel, feel free to add a tablespoon of honey while caramelizing the apples. This will add extra sweetness and a beautiful shine to your tart.
