Ingredients
Serves 6:
- 6 apples (Reinette or Golden type)
- 150g of sugar
- 80g of salted butter
- 1 teaspoon of shilajit (resin)
- 1 roll of all-butter puff pastry
- 1 lemon (juice)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (thermostat 6).
- Peel , core and quarter the apples. Sprinkle them with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter and sugar over medium heat. Let it caramelize without stirring until it reaches a beautiful amber color.
- Add the shilajit resin to the caramel and mix gently to incorporate it well.
- Arrange the apple wedges in the pan, packing them tightly. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes, until the apples are tender and lightly caramelized.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured work surface. Cut out a circle slightly larger than the diameter of the pan.
- Cover the apples with the puff pastry, tucking the edges inside the pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Carefully turn the tart out onto a serving plate. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or thick whipped cream.
